Qczek LRS Meets Taranis X-Lite

This is quick guide how to use QLRS with Taranis X-Lite using 3d printed module case designed by me. First thing you should know, is that X-Lite does not support 9ms PXX protocol like Taranis X9D does, so you will need to use PPM output which is a little bit slower, but suitable for long range flights. The 2nd is that 433MHz would kill X-Lite so you need to switch for 868MHz modules.

And small update regarding PXX usage :). I just build custom opentx firmware for X-Lite making possible usage of old PXX πŸ™‚ Enjoy https://github.com/krzysztofkuczek/opentx

So first thing you have to do, is printing cover parts. It’s printable using even crappy cheap 3d printer, but you need to print bottom cover using 0.1mm layer, and spend some time for sanding to make sure that it gently feed X-Lite module bay. You can download STLs from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3438213

So time for fitting connector and gluing it using CA.

And slide it into X-Lite, and not break anything πŸ˜‰

Then time for soldering and securing connector using fixing glue.

Now time for module connector and BEC. Please remember to add capacitors…

And of course shielding…

And blue-tooth module for telemetry, button and LED …

When everything is ready, put everything into the box…

And close it πŸ™‚

Now set up external module PPM protocol.

And you are ready for flying πŸ™‚

Enjoy πŸ™‚

      1. Great article! I have X-lite S. Can I install this firmware in my X-lite S? If this is not possible, is there another way? (X lite S doesn’t have PPM mode)

  1. Thanks for firmware! Is it possible to use QCZEK LRS 2.0 version on X-Lite with SBUS protocol?

  2. Hi! Great project! Can i have install update for X-Lite regarding old PXX usage in my X-Lite S?

  3. How does the rssi work as pwm on a shield haul corex microcontroller?

  4. Hi, cool project, and thanks for sharing. I am trying to make a simple wireless buddy box for an x9 lite and I am looking for the name of the female plug you are using. Can you share the name/type of connector you are using?
